Me and Emma

This summer, I decided to read a disc called Me & Emma, by Elizabeth Flock- and I very much enjoyed it. It was mainly about a girl named Carrie Carver sustentation in the 1940s, with her mother, abusive step-father; Richard, and bantam sister/best friend Emma. The book begins with the Carvers living in a rural township called Toast, in North Carolina. The Carvers were a great family and did everything to recrudesceher; so it was very hard for the family to phalanx when Mr. Carver was tragically killed in a robbery. With no income or man of the house, Mrs. Carver re-married to a man named Richard soon subsequent on Mr. Carvers death. At first, Richard seems like a rainbow subsequently the storm for the Carvers, just they soon proverb him for who he really was; an unemployed jerk whos more touch on about himself and his alcohol than anyone else. The Carvers remained living in their house in Toast for a while, until Richard found a job working the smoke cant over at a lu mberyard in Murchison- a small town miles away from Toast. With intricate feelings about leaving their hometown, the family moved to Murchison. They agnise a living there, besides the fact that Richard is still a jerk. Carrie and Emma literally agree Richard beat up their Mother, until they cant take it anymore. maladjusted of suffering from Richard, Carrie used a scattergun and killed him.

She did it to save her mother, who was nigh killed. Honestly, I really enjoyed the book until I read the ending. I was happy that the bad guy in the story died and got what he deserved, but the truth that was realized in the end do me feel like reading the book was worthless! . In the end, you attend out that the flyspeck sister, Emma, never existed. At all. She was pure imagination. When the first Mr. Carver died, Carrie was so sad and override that she started having psychological problems. She conceive of up the idea that she had a little sister named Emma, and that she of all time had.
